Two apartments in Zakopane and one in Koscielisko - each suits a different kind of stay. Below are the actual travel times, measured on a routing engine rather than guessed.
Sienkiewicza — the centre
The address for guests who would rather not touch the car at all. From Sienkiewicza street it is a nine minute walk to Krupowki, six to the railway station and twelve to the Gubalowka funicular.
Four guests, one bedroom. The smallest of our apartments and the easiest one to step out of for an evening in town.
Skibowki — the quiet side
Skibowki is a small residential district of Zakopane. Krupowki is a five minute drive away, yet in the evening you cannot hear the promenade - which is the whole point of this address.
Seven guests across three bedrooms, 50 sqm. The largest of our apartments, made for families and bigger groups. Wi-fi and a parking space.
Koscielisko — at the mouth of the valley
The only one of our apartments outside Zakopane - and the only one from which you can walk to the Koscieliska Valley in under half an hour. By car it is six minutes.
Six guests, two bedrooms. This is the address for guests who come to the mountains for the mountains rather than for Krupowki - the promenade is a ten minute drive away. Wi-fi and parking.
What to see
Tatra trails
Koscieliska Valley (16 min drive from Skibowki), Kuznice and the cable car to Kasprowy Wierch (10-25 min drive). Morskie Oko is an hour and twenty minutes away by car, plus roughly two hours on foot from the car park.
Ski slopes
Kasprowy Wierch, Gubalowka, Harenda and Szymoszkowa - from beginner runs to the winter descent from Kasprowy for experienced skiers.
Thermal baths
Chocholow, Bukowina Tatrzanska and Szaflary - an afternoon option for the days when the weather in the mountains refuses to cooperate.
Podhale culture
The wooden chapel at Jaszczurowka, the Tatra Museum, the Hasior Gallery and Krupowki itself - all within the town.

From Krakow: the Zakopianka road (7/47), about 2 h
From Katowice: S1 and 7, about 2 h 30 min
From Warsaw: A4 and 7, about 5 h

By plane
Krakow-Balice (KRK): about 110 km, 2 h
Katowice-Pyrzowice (KTW): about 160 km, 2 h 30 min

PKP Intercity runs to Zakopane from Krakow, Katowice and Warsaw;
coaches run even more often.
From the station it is a 6 minute walk to Mountain Whisper;
for the other two apartments take a taxi.
